Should I be worried?

Our house is during summer, trying to cut down on bill, so we don't use the AC much. I have an i7 2.8 and the temps have been getting around 60c, the room is probably around 88-90f, should I be worried at these temps? The HSF I am using is a Hyper 212 plus.

60C isn't anything to be concerned about. You're OK up to 70-72C.
Pretty good temps for such a warm ambient temp in the room.

Is 60c when the cpu at idle or when your doing activities on it?


at idle, Yeah i think you might want to check that out as the cpu shouldn't be that warm with no activity. Make sure that the HSF isn't clogged with dust.



when the cpu doing stuff, as WR2 said, there nothing to worry about.

i7's can run at like 85-90c during stress tests and still be unharmed, so I would say 60c is fine assuming that is under heavy/moderate load.
