If they are discs that you want to keep for a very long time, storing the .iso of them is going to be the best way. You can get a long time out of a dvd that isn't generally used, and kept out of sunlight but at some point its going to fail.

I rarely ever use DVDs anymore. Almost all of my games are digital. The only thing I use DVDs for are operating systems and recovery disks.
