My BIOS is not detecting my 2 IDE cd/dvd drives and it fails to detect my SATA hard drives in all, but one slot. In fact, if I put them in one of the 'bad' SATA ports, my computer's stuck on the mobo splash screen. The only way to get all 3 drives to work--that is, getting them to show up in 'my computer' and being able to access them--is if I disable BIOS from detecting them. If I set the detection to 'auto' my computer will be stuck in the POST. If I decide to detect them, BIOS will virtually freeze while trying to detecting them. I've restored my BIOS settings to default, but it didn't help.

For my 2 dvd drives, I can't get them to show up in BIOS nor windows. They have power as I can close and open them. I've swapped IDE cables and I checked to made sure their jumpers were set correctly.

I need to know whether this is a motherboard issue or not because I only have a few days left before I can still RMA my motherboard. Thanks.
