I'm trying to confirm that my memory is being utilized as dual channel. CPU-Z does not show me 'Channels' at all. It is greyed out. There is no evidence one way or another on post.

I am running

Corsair DDR3 8GB CMX8GX3M2A1333C9
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145315

Asus P8H67-M LE
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=anRBLQ8WEKcWZHSt

All Asus said was "if they're in banks of the same color then they should be in dual channel." There's only two banks here. And they're the same color. Specifications on site above say "Dual Channel memory architecture."

Also, I'd like to make sure everything is kosher before I send off for my rebate. I tried running memtest86 but failed miserably. Does anyone have any advice on memtesting this setup? (processor is an i5-2500)

uEFI is pretty much preventing me from booting into disks. :( I got it to boot into win7, but only after it decided to show the UEFI version of my DVD drive as an option in the boot order.

Solution
Yes run the ram at mobo default 1.5v.
Run Memtest86+ one stick at a time.

Win7 64bit right?
If 32bit version you'll definetly have issues.
Trying to confirm dual-channel won't do you any good at the moment. No program can tell you that. ASUS is a reputable company ... you can believe what the specifications say.

You say MemTest86+ (assuming the newest version -- v4.20) "failed miserably" -- what does that mean? It didn't run at all? It ran but got lots of errors? We need specifics.

Oh ... and you do realize that you'll need to RMA that board soon right? The H67 chipset is also vulnerable to the SATA2 port degradation that caused the recall. I wouldn't do any mail-in rebates until you've got the new board in the system and tested.

...And I gave specifics. UEFI doesn't want to pay attention to my boot order. It just wouldn't boot from the CD.

And yes, I am perfectly aware that the H67 chipset is faulty. Not that that's what this topic is about. At all.

Davcon: I got it to finally listen to me using the boot override. It's testing at the motherboard default of 1.6v for these sticks. It also confirms dual channel, thankfully.

lol You made it sound like a problem with Memtest, not with your boards UEFI not cooperating. I'm glad you got it to work, at least in a limited fashion.

I didn't say this topic was about the chipset issue. I was just making sure you were aware of it. Some people lately haven't been.

Anyway, hopefully the new board will be fixed in more ways than one -- it isn't normal to have a BIOS option ignored by the board. Sounds like there's more wrong with your board than the SATA ports.

If ASUS says their board is dual-channel, their board is dual-channel. I'm glad you were finally able to confirm it for yourself, but you didn't really have to.
