Dear forum members,

Template:

BUDGET: 1000 euro's for the tower with + 20% absolute max. Less preferred. Bang for buck.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: 1-2 months, time is not an issue. I'm a careful buyer.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, general usage (office, web, multitasking, nothing special like rendering).

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Everything outside the tower, software (OS) and DVD drive.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Any Dutch.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Holland.

PARTS PREFERENCES: None.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe. SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Not on this budget.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Low but will buy new screen around 1920x1200.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Only the tower, no screen, looks aren't important. Quality is very important.

I was thinking about:

Intel Core i5 750 PROCESSOR
STOCK CPU COOLER
Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 or Asus P7P55D or P7P55D LE or Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R or MSI P55M-GD41 or MSI P55-GD65 MOBO
G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ 4GB RAM CAS 9 DDR3-1600
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HDD 500 gig
ASUS HD5850 DIRECTCU GRAPHICS
Corsair TX650 PSU
HAF 922 CASE

For around 900 euro.

As you see all those different MOBO's confuse me. I could also go for AM3 ofcourse.

Any input is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

I am now on a laptop as my primary machine but I have an old 17' lying around somewhere so that will have to do for the first week or so.
As for a new screen I was thinking about any decent screen resolution 1920x1200 around 20~26". Haven't made up my mind yet about the screen size, but the resolution will be 1920x1200.
Do you have any suggestions about the build?

Hmm i am not familiar with h/w prices in Holland but for a beefy yet low cost gaming rig this is what i would do up for peeps ^^ H/w based off Egg USA and roughly 657 Euros..but extremely unlikely u get as juicy combos as this hehe

Heh, no combo deals like that aren't possible here. Let me make a similar build.

AMD Phenom II 955
STOCK CPU COOLER
Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 MOBO
G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ 4GB RAM CAS 9 DDR3-1600
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HDD 500 gig
ASUS HD5850 DIRECTCU GRAPHICS
Corsair TX650 PSU
HAF 922 CASE

Is around 40~50 euro's cheaper. Could be more when cheaper PSU or case. But it decreases performance too since the 955 is slower than the i5.

No rendering/encoding look to drop anywhere from AthlonII X3 440 - AthlonII X4 630? Noticed SATA/USB III ain't a priority so look to hit any of these mobos

MSI 770-C45
Gigabyte 770T-UD3P
Asus M4A77TD

Thanks for the replies.
I can't seem to find the 2nd mobo but the first and the last are in stock in several webshops. The first one is actually one of the cheapest mobo's around lol.
I'm a little in doubt, isn't it that you get what you pay for in this business?
