Looking for new CPU Heatsink

Hey guys,

Just built my new gaming rig (with some older components included) and put in an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz BE, but I must say that the stock HS sucks. I don't plan on doing much OCing (but the option would be nice) so I thought I could get away with the stock, but the fan on it is ridiculously loud (much louder than the two 10" case fans) especially when its under gaming load. My question is that, as I was looking for a replacement, I haven't seen much in the way of AM3 compatible HS but there are tons of AM2 ones. I know that there wasn't much of a difference in the AM2/AM2+/AM3 series, so would an AM2 HS work for AM3?

If you guys have any recommendations they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

For reference:

Xclio A380 (2x 10" fans) case
2x EVGA nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+ SLI

The problem with that one is, with the 92 mm fan, they are generally louder, because they require more rpms to get the same airflow as a 120mm fan.

Agreed...just looked at it and it comes in at 27 dB whereas the Sunbeam is 16-20 dB, and I'm looking for silent right now. I would think the case fans would be roaring (2x 250mm) but they're silent and all I hear is the annoying stock CPU cooler with its terrible bearings...

Sunbeam is really cheap, I would look out for them if I were you. But that's just me.

I'll take your word for it and probably buy the Xigmatek one then. I had been looking at it before, but wasn't aware that it would work with my socket, so now everything seems to be kosher (and the dB level is supposedly in the same range as my case fans). Thanks for all your help!!

Revision: Prolly gonna buy the Rosewill you suggested first...reviews seem to have the same issues as Xigmatek and its more college-budget friendly :)
