Better gaming CPU?

AMD Athalon II X4 630
AMD Phenom II X2 555

considering athalon II don't have L3 cache.I know GPU is the crucial thing
for gaming but I just want to know which one is better for gaming?

Between those two I would go with the Athlon II. While the higher clock speed of the Phenom II will help out some in gaming, more and more games are using 2 cores, and the 3rd (and 4th cores) could be used for other background tasks.

My actual recommendation though, would be to get an Athlon II X3. It's cheaper than both, faster than the quad-core, and has an additional core compared to the Phenom II.
