Laptop not booting just cusrsor in left upper corner of display, f2 and f12 do n

my desk top (dell) will not boot. It goes to black screen with cusrsor in left upper corner of screen blinking. F2 and F12 will not work...help.

Sounds like its booting into DOS but without a display. What happens when you hit return/enter does the cursor drop to the next line? if so try typing "dir" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Does the cursor drop down the page? if yes you are in DOS but the screen is blank or font color is same as background.

If that doesn't work try to fix your Windows errors using "HDD Regenerator". Download it, make a USB bootable version. Run it and follow the prompts. Hopefully it will fix your Windows errors.
