I have just purchased some G.skills ripjaws 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314&cm_re=g.skill_ripjaws_series_8gb_(2_x_4gb)_240-pin_ddr3-_-20-231-314-_-Product

So i was wondering if these rams are compatible with the i5-2500k, on microcenters website its states that the supported memory is only 1066 and 1333
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354589

also i purchased a total of 16gb of those ram is it overkill?

Thanks in advance
