Hi, I am new to the forum, but I have always been on this website reading up on articles. I just need some advice a new build for the Summer.
The main usage of this PC will be for recording/producing/mastering music (incl. guitar/bass/vocals/drums/midi). I will not be including studio equipment in this budget. I will be using CPU intensive programs such as Cubase and Pro Tools! This PC will also be used for daily tasks, and little gaming. Nothing hardcore. Sooo lets get to it!!

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: August 2010 BUDGET RANGE: 1000$ Before / After 1200$

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Music Recording/Producing/Mastering, Photoshop, Web Browsing, Movies, Games

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: OS , DVD Drive, Speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: DirectCanada.com, Tigerdirect.ca, NCIX.com COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Canada

PARTS PREFERENCES
I would prefer AMD Phenom II X4 965 because of price (unless someone comes up with a good i7 build), but please note I WANT THIS PC TO BE FUTURE PROOF! I want it to last a long time! That means USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0. I would also want a single 5850. I would get another one later down the road and run Crossfire. As for the rest, it's up to you!

OVERCLOCKING: Eventually (when I get bored) CROSSFIRE: Eventually

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Not to up to date with my resolutions. I would want 1 monitor for now and run it in 1080p HD (if not then in 720p).

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I would like the case to be black, that is not too flashy (no Alienware light show plz!)

Everything looks good except the mobo, it has a built in graphics card wont get used...will this slow down any performance? What about the 890fx series. Would it be over kill then?

Ok thanks guys, I will go with the 890gx.

Any of you guys use BestDirect? Is it the "best" because I have herd the DirectCanada is also good. Does it just come down to personal preference?
I live in Ontario so maybe I can score a better shipping deal with another site, I will try the same options on other sites.
