Friends, Have a very nice, workably system based on the above mobo.

It's overclocked quite nicely to 3.6 GHz, and is pretty reliable! We've got 2x2GB of DDR3 Ram in there, running at 1600 Hz. It's a 2-channel mobo, with 4 memory slots. Original documentation claims that 8GB is the max memory.

I'd like to now upgrade it to maximum memory, for it to live out its years as well as it can.

Is 8GB the real max - is this a limitation of the processor? - or do the docs simply reflect the RAM configurations available at the time?

Thanks in advance!

(re subcategory: Couldn't assign this where I thought it should be - sorry!)
