Can i change my processor?

currently duo core...can i replace and change to core 2 duo

I don't think so, different sockets. Based off what I found on Wikipedia, duo core uses socket 479 while core 2 uses 775.

Then yes, you can get any 775 socket CPU. You could even get a quad like the Q6600 or Q6700
