I've been researching and checking prices on parts for a while now, and I think the parts that I've selected are a good price and will work well together, but this is my first build and I wanted to make sure I haven't messed something up. Mainly I'm looking for comments like "that ram won't work with your motherboard" or "that part isn't worth the price, get this instead". Just things that a first-time builder might overlook or not know about. Thanks for the help!

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: within a week

BUDGET RANGE: $1,000 After Rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, browsing, movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com or Microcenter
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: The only parts I definitely don't want to change in the list below are the i7-930 and the 5850 (any part of that model is fine).

OVERCLOCKING: Yes
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'm planning on getting an SSD in a few months for an OS drive, so I just chose a big, decent hard drive for a storage drive.

I'd go for the SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1TB for $20 more if possible, otherwise it looks fine. I would change the RAM, but considering you're saving $80, I suppose it's worth it.

I found the F3 for the same price as the Caviar Blue, so I'm going to get that now instead, like you recommended. Thanks.

And the RAM wasn't my first choice, but like you said $80 off is too good to pass up.
