I'm considering buying the Asus N61JV i3-350M and i'm wondering about it's suitable for gaming, any comments or alternatives (relatively cheap alternatives)?

Thanks in advance...

i3 is just ok for gaming. But a bigger concern is heat. If you want to game on a laptop, I recommend you add a cooler. Some are only $10; they generally provide 2 fans and mount under the pc. The onboard video with the i3 is pretty good, but for newer games, a separate video card works much better.

Definitely. The best price/performance point as far as gaming laptops go (at 16 inches!)

It's certainly better than the MSI CX620 and the Asus K52F. The i5-430M version is better though...but obviously more expensive (should be around $900) .

And if you're willing to shell out $1,100, there is always the ASUS N61JQ-X1 i7-720QM.

I'd stick with your original pick though ;)
