Phenom II vs Athlon II

AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8 GHz is $99.00 and AMD Athlon II X3 440 Rana 3.0 GHz is $76.00. Which is better?

its according to what you think of as better, me personally, i would go for the x3 440 because of the lower price, the higher clock and the lack of L3, but the average power user would go for the x3 720 because it has the full L3 and an unlocked multi

Overall, the Phenom ii x3 720 is a little better than the athlon ii x3 440.

Although depending on what you do specifically, the program you use may favor the higher GHz than the L3 cache.

I guess a better question is "Is the $20 more for the Phenom II x3 worth it? I will use it to Play SCII at 1920x1200 screen resolution.

With that, i have no idea. Although most games make use of the l3 cache, so i think the Phenom ii x3 is still able to do better than athlon ii x3.
