Switching out HD's

Hi guys,

Please forgive my ignorance. I'm not very knowledgeable with this. I just bought a new Dell XPS 8500 that will come with a 1 TB HD. However, I have a Dell Inspiron 620 with a 1.5 TB HD. I would like to switch the two out. Of course, I will back up all of my data, but is there anything else I should worry about other than just taking one out and putting it in the other?

They both have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

well you need to image the drive and restore each image to the other drive for it to work.

Clonezilla is a Free & Open Source Software for Disk Imaging and Cloning. You can make a Full System Backup or transfer the entire contents of one drive to another if you are doing a Hard drive upgrade.
