Hello there,
I've just received my new computer from Lenovo and it is supposed to have the above. The problem is I can't work out if Lenovo has installed this or something different ie cheaper? There's nothing in the Device Manager that says the above and I ran the bios and it said Sata but that was it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)

In device manager, expand the disk drives entry. It should identify the device with something like intel ssd......120...

The only way that Windows knows that the drive is a ssd is by how fast the response time is.

Look at or run the windows experience index. control panel/system/ A ssd will be in the 7's.

Depends, some motherboards take a long time to boot, like all Asus boards. You could also just run windows index experience thing and if you score under 6.5 then you do not have an ssd. Right now on my work laptop my WIE is scoring my hdd @ 5.8, at home it scored my desktop ssd @ 7.6 with both my ssd's in raid 0 it scores 7.9.

Could also just remove the hard drive case and look at the physical hard drive. Should be 2-4 screws on the bottom and then it will slide out. At least thats the normal from what I have seen.

You are great. Thanks everyone. FWIW it's fast (for me!) but looks like Lenovo have ripped me off as I paid for SSD.

Yeah you got an SSD. You should follow this guide to kill the mess of windows features you do not need, which let your ssd last longer. Some wont apply since it is a laptop, like having a 2nd hdd:

Windows 7 ssd Optimization

Edit: How did lenovo rip you off? If your WIE is 7.9 with a normal HDD, send it to me and ill give you a ssd in return lol.
