Hi, I have a Dell Latitude laptop. If I set the Power options to go to
Standby or Hibernate when I close the lid, and I close the lid, the system
goes to sleep correctly. When I open the lid again, it appears to power up
correctly, however the screen is blank.
For Standby it stays blank the whole time.
For Hibernate, it wakes the screen during the DOS-screen boot up but once
WinXP is due to kick back in as I left it, the screen blanks again.
If I virtually close the lid until it all but clicks into the lock, then
open it again, the screen reappears!
Any ideas how I can get it to just come on when I open it the first time?
Also, sometimes when returning from Standby, the processor is painfully
slow. CPU usage is 100% and 99% of that is 'System' but nothing is running.
It takes about 5 minutes to get the Start Menu to pop up. Known problem?
