$1500 Workstation Card

Hello everyone. I am a 3d graphics designer and I am looking to upgrade my system at work with my new fancy budget. My current system has an i7, 6 gigs of ram, and a crappy Nvidia Quadro FX 580.

My question is: If you had $1500 to spend on a workstation graphics card, which would you get and why?

I am unfortunately very uneducated when it comes to workstation cards, and my current scenes are approaching 2.5-5 Million Polys... I am getting around 2 FPS in the viewport with all the layers exposed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

you can get an 8800 cheaper and its a better card. That 8750 is overpriced.
