Dell Studio XPS 435MT Max Ram

I have a Dell Studio XPS 435MT, i7 920. I really love my machine and figured that I would upgrade the RAM from 6GB to 24GB. Loaded the RAM fine, BIOS says 24GB, ran the BIOS diagnostics with no issues. CPUZ tells me 24GB Triple channel memory. However, WIN7 Home Premuim list 16GB. Do I need to do something with WIN7 to get it to see 24GB?

Answered my own question.... The wonderful folks in Redmond (Microsoft) restrict Win7 64 Home Premium to 16G of RAM. I guess I'll have to upgrade!

I have upgraded my dell studio xps 9000/435mt with 24 GB of ram. I'm running windows ultimate x64 and it's working fine, showing 24gb in bios, system, and windows. So, no, the limit is not 12 as the previous poster stated, but 24GB. The service manual also confirms the max is 24gb for this dell model.
