My idle temps for my GPU need answers

My video is an ATI Radeon 4890 1GB not the vaporx cooler. My temps seem kind of high for IDLE and underload the fan doesnt seem to speed up too much, my question is how hot can the MemIO get before it takes a dump, because it gets pretty hot underload.

If those are temps at idle I would agree with you that they are a little high, maybe dusting off the fan and heatsink should help if you can get to them.

I thought ati cards didn't get hot....???
Try cooking an egg on it, if it cooks, you know it's too hot.

No, i think it's normal...
HD48xx cards are "normally" HOT, even at idle...
HD4890 is consumes a lot power and produce a lot of heat plus your version isn't Vapor-X.
