New at this and putting together my first gaming rig. Was looking at a 500 MB 7200 rpm HD and a seperate 64 GB SSD, total cost of $142. Came across a 500 MB HD with a 64 MB cache built in for $110.
Will the cheaper one provide just as much benefit for Arma 2 and the upcoming Simcity?
Thanks in advance.

Hard drives only influence game loading times, when you are gaming, everything is in the memory, so that if you have 4GB of system memory, then this should be okay.

The size of the cache on the drive will only determine the speed of the hard drive when the data frequently accessed is found in the cache. For games, the loading is almost entirely sequential, so transfer rates are more important, never mind the cache. These days, find a good HDD with a decent warranty. Most HDDs have warranties cut down to the bone at just 1 year.
