I'm running windows 7 64 bit on a Samsung 830 SSD in AHCI mode; I recently bought a Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX 2TB for media storage, and I'm using an ASUS M4A88TD-V/USB3 mobo. The WD isn't showing up in windows at all, thats my problem.
I currently have the ssd plugged into sata port 1 and have my sata configuration set to ports 1-3 ahci mode. When I try to change ports 4-6 to(which what I have the HDD connected to) ide. My mobo makes me want to boot from the WD black for some reason. I get this message change boot device or insert media disk, but if I change those port configuration (4-6) back to ahci; I can boot from my SSD but the WD black doesn't show up in windows.
