Hot pocket under GPU in Raidmax Smilodon

Hello, I have a Raidmax Smilodon case with 120mm front intake fan, 2 80mm side intake fans, and 120mm rear exhaust fan. My question is I have a EVGA GTX 470 (exhaust out rear) and below it there is a pocket of hot air. Would it be better to have air intake or exhaust out of the PCI slots?

Exhaust, the general airflow of a case has the rear running as a exhaust system.

Do you think exhausting the air would make the GPU work harder to get air?

Not really.

It would give it cooler air to take instead of recycling hot air throughout the case

I will try that out...anyone else want to chime in?

Install an exhaust to take care of the hot spot.

I have the same fan... forgive the slowpoke for a two-year late response.

By default, I noticed that the manufacturer placed both of the side fans in a way that they are only blowing air INTO the case. I simply flipped both fans the other way, cleaned them off, and now my card runs about 10ºC cooler.
