Why do you need hyper-threading? It really doeskin help put much except on a few cases.

For HT and Quad-core, youll need an i7-860/870.

So you dont think hyperthreading is worth the extra $80?

He asking what do you do. Like gaming rendering, cad, ect.

Depending on what you do, HT may or may not be worth it.

Ill be doing gaming(Shooters,Sc2,And maybe Wow) and internet browsing

I wouldn't bother with HT, use the extra $$ and get more memory.

or dump the Intel Quad and get

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT55TFBGRBOX @ $200 @ NewEgg.

Yeah, for gaming, HT will not be worth it. Save the $80 for something else. If you want to spend $80 on the computers, put it towards better graphics as that will boost your games performance more than a cpu with ht

For gaming, stick with a 750/760 with a good GPU, or a 966/965 with a better GPU.
