Hey all,
Firstly, I'm not sure if this is in the right category, but hopefully some of you can help me on this.
My Windows installation on my HDD was wrecked. I don't want to go into details. It didnt work and just reboots the computer when I attempted to use the boot.
So, I formatted the HDD so I can actually use it using my other drive with Ubuntu 12.04 installed. I tried installing the HDD, but it just wouldn't do it. I would take the steps "Delete Partition" and then "Create a partition" or "Install Windows XP" (or whatever it says)
Once it was "completed", the computer would ask to restart itself. Once I do however, the HDD has a few MB less space but is still in the installation mode and I can't do anything but delete partition/format.
I'm kinda clueless here. I'll answer any questions if I was kinda vague, and hopefully this will be resolved.
Thank you!

Test the hard drive for impending failure with SeaTools for DOS: http://www.seagate.com/support/internal-hard-drives/consumer-electronics/ld25-series/seatools-dos-master/

The download is an ISO file. Create a CD from this file with IMGBurn: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/

Boot your computer from that CD & SeaTools for DOS will open.
Test the hard drive using the Long/Extended test.

Thanks, Phil. I don't think there's any physical damage on the hard drive, however. It seems like a problem with the way I either set it up or the XP install disk itself :\
