Why cant I veiw a cam on my computer ?

I'm a guest...living in someone else's home temporarily. Although we are very rural..they are on satalite and have their primary computer set up in another area... Im using a wireless remote thru a router..and since hooking up my PC in my own room...i can't view anyone else's cam..or when accepting an offer to view someones cam...i get nothing ??? Any ideas ? NOTE: It worked perfectly when i used my own computer in my last place and plugged directly in.....but now on a wireless router..into another room..i iget nothing ?
