Are there good Socket A motherboards with AGP support. Or Socket A with PCI Express as an alternative. Am running an ASUS A78n Dewluxe and an EPox 8rda3+. Wondering if there are better boards in the socket A class. Have good peripherals so not looking to a complete system upgrade yet.

Socket 'A' release year: 2000
List of AMD sockets since Socket 'A':

754
940
939
S1
AM2
F
AM2+
AM3
G34
C32
AM3+ (Bulldozer: releasing later this year)

They haven't manufactured motherboards utilizing that socket for some years now, it's time for a new computer because you can't go anywhere with that. Sorry.

I think that the only place to get a socket A cpu nowadays would be Ebay. Maybe.

Yep Ebay is the place. Just Wondering if anyone knows what the best and latest boards manufactured under socket A were. Was considering a new board with AM2+ but have all the socket A peripherals already you know? Seems costly for complete system upgrade
