This is frustrating; I am new to Windows 7 and have no idea what is missing between the router and the PC to activate wireless. Internet is fine hardwired but does not see the router in the devices listed. I received a success message after initial setup. Please help

The router isn't part of the computer hardware -- which is why it isn't listed.

See the computer manual for how to turn on the wireless adapter (if any).

See the router manual for how get the computer to talk to the router's setup screens via your browser and the ethernet cable to set up wireless and wireless security.

Your short term aim is to get the wireless working in the router and computer and for the computer to detect the wireless router's signal. After that it's a matter of doing as Windows tells you.
