My dual core e5200 runs at 1.8ghz!

its supposed to run at 2.5ghz.
i used cpu-z and rightmark CPU clock utility
when the cpu is stressed the clock is 1.8ghz
when idle it goes down to 1.2ghz (which is fine).
why it doesnt go to 2.5ghz like it should when its stressed?
i also updated bios to the newest, still the same

running on win7 32bit
cpu: pentium dual core e5200 2.5ghz
motherboard: gigabyte ga-g31m-es2l rev 1.1
ram 2 x 1gb 800mhz

when i right click my computer and open properties
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz 1.90GHz
how come its clocked at 1.8ghz - 1.9ghz ?

what motherboard do you have?

Open up the BIOS and check to see what your internal multiplier is.

You may need a BIOS update to fully support the Wolfdale based E5200.
