I'll see what I can do here.

So, about 120,000 Rupees?

Hi there, right, with a buget of $2000 you can really have a serious piece of kit at your disposal
The list that you have stated just ranks the avaliable components in order, so i'll try and pick out a decent rig from that
I'll do all the prices from newegg, cos you have stated dollars as the currency, obviously from there you can see about shopping in india

CPU - i7-930 - $289.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
The best of the i7s, overclocks to the levels of nearly all the faster units, but is one of the cheapest

MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R - $209.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
one of the best 1366 mobos, gives very high overclocks, and is one of the cheaper 1366 boards

CASE - HAF 932 - $139.98
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
the 932 is a great case, although a bit overpriced
HAF 922 - $89.98
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
The 922 is a slightly smaller case in height only, (2 cd drive bays less), but is alot cheaper, imo a better buy

HDD - Samsung F3 1TB - $69.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Currently the best drives on the market, get two if you need the 2TB of space, as the single samsung 2TB drive is only 5400rpm

SSD - OCZ Vertex 2 120GB - $354.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Essential for a build of this amount, you will really really notice the speed boost. Use it to load the OS and main programs, keep all the rest of the data on the hdds. Obviously you can get bigger drives, but the price really goes up. OCZ atm imo make the best drives
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2009/05/15/ocz...

RAM - OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 - $169.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Triple channel ram gets the best out of i7 systems, if you need 12gb for any reason, then just buy 2 lots

GPU - XFX HD-587X-ZNFV Radeon HD 5870 - $389.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
The best gpu on the market, rips through all the games, if you want to crossfire 2, then go ahead, but its really not necessary atm, unless you are gaming on really huge monitors

CPU COOLER - Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B - $62.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Pretty much still the best air cooler on the market, pricey, but performs great, dont forget to add these 2 fans

FANS - Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" - $8.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

OPTICAL - Sony DVD burner - $20.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

PSU - XFX Black Edition XPS-850W - $149.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Really good PSUs, same internal as corsair units (as they are all maufactured by seasonic), 850W will be enough if you want to heavily overclock your CPU and crossfire 5870s if you wish

Hope this helps
June 10, 2010 10:35:49 PM

That comes to roughly $1946 with 2 hdds, and 1 5870
June 10, 2010 11:10:30 PM

$150 Antec 1200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
$120 Antec CP-850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Newegg usually has a combo on the two above for $220 - $240. And Yes, you will wanna use the OFF switches on the LED's iif you're not into the blingy stuff.

Alternate ($60 more) would be:

$ 140 HAF 932 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
$ 190 HX850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Another alternate would be this combo which I'd recommend if your overclock aims are more modest (as mine would be w/ a $1000 CPU :)  )

Antec P183 / CP-850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

The 932 and 1200 trade advantages back and forth on the THG review here. With your budget, I'd want at least a 9.5 performance rating from jonny guru. Any of the 1st 4 is a winner but the CP-850's CTX form factor gives it an edge in quietness, cooling and certainly price.

For comparison purposes , the list below contains performance ratings (10 scale) at jonnyguru.com / prices as per newegg on 02/21/2010 and ones w/ double asterisks (**) made it onto silentpcreview.com's Editor's Choice List meaning they excelled at both electronic and acoustic performance:

Antec SG-850 - 10.0 ($220) **
Antec CP-850 - 10.0 ($110) **
XFX 850W Black Edition 10.0 ($185)
Corsair HX850 850W - 10.0 ($180)

Antec TruePower Quattro (TPQ-850) - 9.5 ($150)
Corsair TX850 - 9.5 ($140)
Seasonic M12D 850W - 9.5 (NLA) **
NorthQ Giant Connector 850W - 9.5 (NFS)
Etasis ET850 - 9.5 (NLA)
Silverstone Zeus ST85ZF - 9.5 (NLA)

$ 370 ASUS Rampage III Extreme .... if you have the budget, there is really nothing else that comes close.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

$ 1000 i7-980x First I gotta say that you can OC the 930 to 980 levels.....but you certainly can OC the 980 higher and if you have the budget and want the best, who am I to hold ya back :)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

$190 Mushkin DDR3-1600 CAS 6 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

$80 Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Check out the performance charts and pick whatever 500 GB per platter drive performs best under your usage patterns. The 2 TB WD Black and XT from Seagate are good choice but at smaller capacities, you are limited to the Seagate 7200.12 or the Spinpoint F3. The 7200.12 excels in gaming, multimedia and pictures whereas the F3 wins at music and movie maker. See the comparisons here (copy past link in manually, link won't work in forum):

Look at the tests that reflect your usage and choose accordingly.

$350 ASUS ENGTX470/2DI/1280MD5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
For your Rendering, you definitely want an Nvidia card to take advantage of the CUDA plug ins for 3DMax / Maya etc. You may even want a "workstation card (i.e. FX- something or other). But if you're into gaming also, the fermi cards do both well whereas the workstation cards don't do as well in gaming.

True, i have no idea on online indian PC shops, so i was just using newegg to get a general $ price and component list
June 11, 2010 4:19:38 AM

Yeah it's hard over there because prices don't really match up. You have a budget but it might not stretch as far in India or it might go even farther. I have several links to e-shops in India, that can be found at the beginning of my big parts list, linked in my sig.

My total budget crossed :o  $4300...... :o

nw ill have to get my energy :bounce:  saved to connivence my dad...

i crossed for over $1700 :ange:  means aproxx 80000 rs. which means 2 home premium pc's
June 12, 2010 3:03:17 AM

Did you list your GPU? Don't get a crossfire setup or dual GPU. That will likely cause issues with your Maya and other programs.

Show your dad that you have some sense and care about his hard-earned money. Get an i7 930, which will overclock just fine and has a far saner cost to performance ratio.

edit: There it is, don't get the 5970. Get either the 5870 or the GTX 480.
June 12, 2010 11:45:49 AM

okay ill try to connivence myself for -930 n 5870

n one mre do i have to buy ny cpu water cooler sort of thing
June 12, 2010 1:32:49 PM

So i think you are now looking at the kinda setup i had in my 1st post ;)
You can go down the watercooling route, but its expensive and not necessary, a good aircooler like the one in my 1st post (Prolimatech Megahalems), will allow you to overclock above 4ghz no problem
