I need suggestions for a cheap video card that will work with the Intel i7-930 and Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366. I am up against my budget and cant stretch it much more. I didn't realize that the mobo didn't have on board video.

The purpose of the card would strictly be to give a monitor connection with the thought that it will be upgraded at my birthday or Christmas to something decent.

I have been suggested the HD 4650. I see it for about $50. That is too much and is probably going to force me to return my i7-930.

Any suggestions?

Any non-AGP card will do for the basics really. If you really have almost no money to spend on it then Ebay is probably your best choice.

From the initial post it doesn't sound like he is in a situation where rebates are particularly useful.

If you're up against a wall then get this

POWERCOLOR AX3450 $29.99 ($19.99 after mail in rebate)

It's a crappy card, but it is a DX10 card and will at least give you Aero effects on Vista or Win7. It's also o.k if you want to play old games, but it's too poor to play newer ones even on the lowest settings. A 4350 like this one is twice as powerful, but still sucks.

POWERCOLOR AX4350 $34.99

It would let you play games perhaps from a year or two ago to keep you occupied :D .
