I'm getting a new PC and I'm not sure whether having a 7200 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD will bottleneck my system. I will be gaming whilst recording whilst writing the recordings onto the HDD (will be saved onto it). Do I need an SSD?

GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 670 2GB
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k
MoBo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB or WD Black Caviar 1TB?

Do SSD raise the performance if a game is put onto it, so e.g. rendering a game whilst playing? Or only loading SCREENS and the startup of the game? Cheers

There another thread that almost same as your problems, for recording 720p it's fine with WD 7200 caviar black...

but for recording 1080p the game lagging while the recording fine....

so, not recommended to do game recording in 1080p with 7200 rpm drives ....
