Hi everyone, hope the day found you at a good start and boi'o'boi breakfast is smellin' good!!!! So title says all and I've done my homework and now I need the professors to take out the red pens :D  lol!!!! Here's my homework: -AMD Phenom2 X4 965BE 125w 180bucks -MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard 100bucks -ASUS CuCore Series EAH5770 CuCore/2DI/1GD5 Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support 140bucks -G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ 110bucks :S (yuck) and I've chosen a 600w pro-quiet psu 12v from cooler master and a 32mb cache 500GB HD from WD blah blah boring parts but just to avoid ppl asking :)  Total is 877 with Win7 OS and case and free hdmi cable (gift with cpu lol) So all I want is to play and write blu-rays (brings total to 1050ish) and play games like CSS, SC2 and WC3, am i doing overkill on cpu? should i put more money on video card? buy two? buy a different one? Thanks in advance guys, I'm not biased towards brands or anything so I'm open to any idea...

Hit a HD 5850 for 1080p gaming and is that Silent Pro series 80+ CM?

Yes that's the 80 certified silent pro series 600w for like 70 bucks on newegg right now...the video card u suggested costs twice as much, but i know playing these thing on a big screen max res wasn't gonna be cheap either lol

Thanks for the quick responses guys and im sorry for what happened to the text i wrote, i put nice spaces between items and everything lol, but i did it before registering in the ask a quick question section... so it serves me right :D

ok so here's the deal-i-o: I'm starting from scratch and I need to know what I can buy so i can spend the least while being able to play WC3, CSS, SC2 with good fps and max graphics :D  on a 42" lcd 1080p (as for why, thats right you shouldnt have to ask) and I'd like to be able to burn and play blu-ray discs and surf the internet blah blah

List of items: (slightly revised lol)

-AMD x4 965BE 125w (180 bucks comes with hdmi cable)

-MSI 870A-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard (100bucks)

-GigaByte Hd 5850 (320 bucks :ouch: , breaching my price limit there lol is the 5770 not enough?)

-COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 600 RS-600-AMBA-D3 600W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply (70bucks....i dont understand half that title lmao, will this work....its a good deal)

-For memory i'm choosing some DDR3 2x2GB, cheapest i can find is 110 on newegg, i dont really care what speed it is because i saw some tests online where it made little difference and timing meant more

So thats my parts list for now (the rest is the easy stuff, not that ive forgotten it) Did i overdo it on the cpu? Do i need a 300 dollar card to play these games ive specified on my tv? (answer to what i need for that is really hard to find online), is that pcu a good choice? no budget really, just want what i need

Well 955 is also a black edition i.e unlocked multi chip so i would just go with that over 965BE ^^The joys of a HD 5850 though....:p

At 1080p, the 5770 starts to struggle. It would probably be fine with strategy games (SC2) and other old games, but it's going to have trouble with new fps games, and it's likely to show its age pretty quickly (within a year or two).

The 5850 is the best value card for gaming at 1080p.

For SC2, you're going to want a quad-core processor. The 955 is the place to be at this budget.

I know that batuchka just reused this build, but it's a really hard one to beat. The GPU + PSU combo is amazing, it's nearly $100 off. $360 for the video card that you need and an excellent 750W PSU is really hard to beat.
