Corsair vx 550

Ok so i might be able to get my hands on a corsair vx550 psu and was wondering if it could handle this rig:

Phenom II x4 945 3.0 ghz
Cpu fan coolermaster hyper212 plus
Asus m2n68-am se2 mobo
Nvidia gts250

But between the corsair vx550 and the silverstone st50f 500w, i was wondering which would be the best choice taking into consideration the ~$15 price difference.. Thanks

The Corsair 550VX is the better and more powerful PSU. But is it worth an extra $15? Thats a value judgement for you to make. The SilverStone ST50F 500W is a good PSU, has enough power for your system and would be a safe choice.

Although there are many good reviews about the vx550, ive heard that the vx series was actually made by CWT and not by seasonic. Is this something to be alarmed about?

Not at all. CWT made the PSU to the specifications Corsair ordered. If there was a performance or quality issue with the Corsair 550VX it would have long ago been noticed by the independent reviewers.
