I'm not looking up motherboards to debate which is a better board as it won't have much affect on performance. However in most games you'll get very similar performance if not nearly identical between the 2 builds, but the I5 will be the more powerful set up over all. Also if your planning to overclock, the I5 will increase it's performance lead over the Phenom II.

Why that mobo though? The 790FX-GD70 is probably a better mobo IMO. You can still SLI with it too.

Rig #1 for me. The i5 as pointed out will have the edge in overclocking. Although change the PSU, to Corsair TX650W.

I dunno, If you like modular, as in cable management or just allowing airflow. Modular is the way to go, in which i would actually recommend the XFX 650 watt Modular PSU 80+ Bronze, practically the same specs as the 650HX but much cheaper and well with the 20$ MIR you can't go wrong :D
