Problems in installing ram

Hello,
i have two rams installed in my computer. both are identical 1 gb each. for installing linux on my system i removed one of the rams. and after installing linux, i reinstalled the ram. the problem is that ram is not shown installed, neither in operating system nor bios. i need help. by the way i have an intel dg41rq motherboard.
