Hello,
Hi,

Have had a Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS5 mother board for two years with no problems at all.

Recently while using MS flight simulater a blue screen came up very briefly,
then power went off.

I pressed power on and the computer started to boot up. The boot up lasted two or three seconds only. The case has a glass side panel I could see the CPU fan start then stop. After about two seconds the boot up starts up again
after two/three seconds stops. The same sequence over and over until I cut the power supply switch. Ive had it run like this for ten minutes before I switch power off.
I've pulled out each stick of ram and tried starting but no luck
Has a Intel Core 2 quad CPU
2GB DDR2 ram
N'Vidia 8800 video card
750watt power supply
Windows Vista

Took it to my local fixer who told me it was either the PSU, the CPU or the motherboard.....great.....
Would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks
Neville

What PSU exactly? Can you borrow one and try with it?

Thanks,

It is probably not the CPU.

A good 550 watt PSU, such as the Corsair 550VX, will have no trouble running your system. A good 550 will be better than a mediocre 750.
