5870 vs 5970

For the i5-750 gaming pc i plan on buying soon I am either going to use the 5870 or 5970. Is the 5970 worth the extra money or should I stick with the 5870? My monitor Resolution is 1920 x 1200

Just grab a 5870...it'll be fine for your monitor. If you want high anti-aliasing, and your PSU and budget can handle it, grab an HD5970 then.

My budget is 1500$ and my psu is 850w, do you think I should still go with the 5870

850w can handle a 5970 no prob. With a 1500 budget, it would be worth it, as long as none of your other components are super expensive.
A 5870 would be a great choice for now though if you want to save money. You might not even need the 5970s extra power.

1x HD5970, 1x HD5870 = $1100
2x 1920x1080 monitors = $400

I would get the 5970 ( that way you don't have to worry about upgrading your graphic card until DX12 is released and if you have a dual pcie 16 slot motherboard you can get a GTX 260 for phys-x). You have the money so why not live a little! You deserve a HD 5970.
