The Athlon II X4 635 is the obvious choice out of the three you've mentioned.. 8600GT is not that powerful for any modern age game regardless of the game and/or resolution & settings.. Try to get an ATI HD 5770 1GB instead..

X4 635 for me too.

But why 8600GT now? Its a waste!

What's your total budget for the GPU?

6GB as everyone said is useless. Most applications don't fully utilize 4GB at all. So you can stick to 4GB and spend the rest on the card.

for the gpu 800$ atm. and my gpu because its from my old pc and i didn't buy a new one

L3 cache is important when it comes to gaming. If you are into gaming then i think the L3 cache would be handy and if you are looking at Phenoms then get a Phenom II 955 and get it over and done with.

In the post above you mentioned that $800 for the GPU? Is that true? You can get a HD5970 for that!

yeah. i don't want nvidia cards anymore ... i will get the best ati card for the money i have....

Amazing!! $800 you can get:

HD5970
HD5850 1GB CF
And some HD 5870 CF as well.

GTX460 1GB SLI
GTX470 SLI
GTX480

With that budget you can get pretty much anything you want.

If you prefer a single card solution then the HD 5970 would certainly kill all competion. Otherwise i suggest the GTX470 SLI.

Also make sure you have a good PSU.

yes mate, i do prefer a single card :D  because i have only one pci express x16 slot .... and yes probably i will take the ati
HD5970

Wow that is so much money for a GPU setup... Why a cheap CPU? Shoulda just gone with the extra and went for the 955 =P A perfectly fine setup is 5850 CF, the reason being 5850's can actually be OC'd to the point of a 5870 stock. I have a single 5850 950/1205 and it runs at the same speed as a single 5870. So if your able to OC the 5850's to around 900/1XXX you'll be able to save 200$ and in essence have 5870 CF.

Also, just for your future reference for L3 Cache. It isnt THAT important for even gaming. The difference is probably only 2-5 fps, which isn't a huge difference.

5970 is a great card but what resolution do you play at ?

O.o no..... he already bought his CPU... Plus he could just OC to avoid bottlenecks...

for your info i didn't buy it .... i could send it back when it arrives get my money back and order a new one... simple

Ohhh, Ok. Well If you could just take like a small portion like 30$ more and you could get a 955. More like 20ish$. The 955 has the unlocked multi so you'll be able to OC further that way it'll decrease the likeliness of a bottleneck if you get the 5970. Higher clock speed = less bottle neck (usually thats the case) Plus the 955 could easily get to 3.9-4.0ghz on air. Say like a Hyper 212+, which cools great and it's only 20 sum dollars. Don't get the 212+ on newegg its double from any other store.
