Hello guy can i use hd 5850 with my 500watt of PSU..

If i use 500watt of PSU for my future hd 5850 can it make a problem when i play a game such as Crysis or Ghostbuster.?

Which 500W Cooler Master PSU?

(1) RP-500-PCAR ATX12V V2.01 +12V1 @16A,+12V2 @16A Total +12V not listed
or
(2) RS-500-PCAR-A3 ATX 12V V2.3 +12V1 @18A +12V2 @18A Total +12V 360W

(1)
17-171-018-S03

(2)
17-171-031-S05

#2 is the better PSU.
But there is a "gotcha" - it's NOT a 500W PSU. (notice the missing W after the 500 on the label?)
Another hint is that small print note ".... combine power shall not exceed 431.5W"

You can read about the details @ Hardware Secrets review: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500

Like Bluescreendeath says you should be OK with a 5850 in an gaming system.
(if you have an unusually heavily loaded system; heavily overclocked power hungry CPU, planning on a high GPU overclock, extra case fans and case lights, extra hard disks and optical drives, things like that we might need to take a closer look)

I use a corsair 400w psu with my 5870 setup, dual core cpu. Barely enought. - if that answers your question?
Check if the psu gives as much ampere at 12v that is needed. F.ex. the 5870 need 16a per 12v, my psu have 18.

So you should be able to, if the psu are good and gives as much ampere as it is needed by the card. Depends on what you have for cpu, hdd etc. Answer yes it should.

EDIT: Works like a charm even with entusiast @ 1920x1080, crysis. Even if my dualcore cpu is a bottleneck. With some lagg.. highly playable but enoying sometimes.

The 5850 is best GPU for the price. I'm going to buy a 5850 soon with a dual core as my CPU. I've read that the 5770 is pretty much the limit when it comes to bottlenecking a dual core. A 5850 is overkill at its best. Next upgrade: CPU :D

About the question, spel565 is right, you should be fine as long as you're not going to overclock the graphics card to extreme circumstances and both of the 12v rails has 16a.

WR2 found that review link, which indicates this PSU, while capable of 500W, gets electrically noisy when loaded. Since it WILL be loaded by a HD5850 while gaming, and noise can be damaging to components, the answer is "Sort of, but not really safely, at least not for long." Get a quality PSU now, and save yourself future grief. Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, and Enermax are among the better brands. All of them have full range active PFC (no little voltage switch) and are 80+ certified for efficiency. Five hundred watts is all you need.
