I want to get a i7 930,in a x58a-ud3r mobo from gigabyte,3*2 gbs of corsair ram,(I will have these by the end of this week).
I havea custom build case with 9 120mm fans and currently I have a 9600 gt card,so actually I have to questions(bearing in mind I can't upgrade my gpu till the end of next moth)..........

1.Can I use my 9600 with i7 930?
2.keeping in mind I will get a gtx 480,what psu should I buy,a 850 watt thermaltake or 950 watt corsair or something else?

Do you have a nuclear power plant at your disposal?

lol, sorry couldn't resist. I'm pretty sure NVidia's minimum recommendation for the 480 is 600w. I'd put that at the VERY very minimum level however. The card itself is rated at 250w but at peak usage can approach 300w. The 930 is a 135w tdp cpu, but when overclocked can also reach close to 300w (270 @ 4.0 if I remember).

So that's 600w right there w/o any other peripherals. I'd stick with something along the lines of 750w as an entry point and 1000w if you plan on sli. Overkill perhaps but there is very little to lose when overshooting here, and a major headache if you undershoot.

Corsair, Antec, Silverstone, ABS, PC Power&Cooling, Seasonic are all solid psus. Make sure...

Oh, yeah the 9600 will work fine assuming it's the pcie version and not the agp version.

Something else you might want to keep in mind. The 480 is a 10.5 inch card. You said you had a custom case, you might want to double check that you have the clearance to fit it in. It's going to dwarf the 9600gt which is only a 7.8" card
