I am looking for a 4x6 photo printer that will do quality work.
Intent is do be able to get one (or more) prints quickly.
I have sd and compact flash card cameras...most of the ones I looked at
handle those cards and also can take the camera directly.
I usually do and still will upload them to a photo host and get prints that
way as well.

there are many photo printers to choose from, and I appreciate anyone
sharing their knowledge with me.

I think your specific need for features and low running costs should be
your main concerns when shopping for a new printer, as they all make
pretty good photos these days.

My latest printer purchase was based on several other factors, such as
solid build quality (reliable), printheads built into the cartridges (no
clogging issues), and large page yields for the cartridges (low cost per
page).

To meet those needs, I chose the HP Deskjet 6540. It's a solid printer
that performs well, it's fast, easy to maintain, and it produces
excellent photos with either 4 or 6 colour ink.

The Deskjet series usually lacks the extra photo convenience features
like card slots and LCD displays, but I don't care about those anyway
since I edit my photos on the computer first.

If you want other suggestions, you might want to ask in the
"comp.periphs.printers" group and see what they have to say.
