CPU/Mobo Upgrade

It's almost time for me to upgrade my CPU/Mobo and memory. I currently have:

Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 Ghz
4GB DDR2 800mhz Ram
(NEW)Gigabyte Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5
Gigabyte G31M-ES2L MB
750W PSU


I was thinking maybe since I am on a 300$ budget maybe a nice AMD with a decent motherboard or something. Help guys. Thanks My budget is around 350$ max for CPU/MOBO and maybe some memory.

Since you already have some RAM, I can definately recommend an AM3 AMD processor on an AM3/AM2+/AM2 motherboard.

I'm pretty sure none of what I suggested can support CrossFire, but at this price range, it's basically impossible to find, plus you really don't need it with an HD 5870.

yeah those aren't bad
