SSD Question Tags: Hard Drives Virtual Memory SSD Storage Last response: August 4, 2012 10:06 PM in Storage Share Ransome August 4, 2012 7:32:41 PM My system runs on Crucial M4 256GB SSD. I have 16 GB of DDR3 ram. 2x8 Gb Gskill Ripjaws-x. Now I done almost all the tweaks recommended for SSD systems, except for removing or reducing "VIRTUAL MEMORY". Right now, since my build is only a single day old, and windows 7 still set more or less on default, the virtual memory is set to AUTO, and I think it stands on 16 GB as well. Should I remove/reduce the Virtual Memory? and whats the best way to do it. This is a gaming rig, I don't want to damage performance in or out of games, only improve it, thank you. I do know that Windows 7 is very good when it comes to managing memory in general, so it may turn out that having your settings set at "Default" and "Auto" may turn out to be the best. Hopefully other Forum members will give their thoughts. m 0 l Ransome August 4, 2012 10:06:24 PM Thank you, thats ok. m 0 l Can't find your answer ? Ask !
