Will my Motherboard support this processor?

Hey there, new to Tom's hardware and just thought I would use this forum to ask a quick question: I just got a new processor, the Pentium dual-core E7500. Was wondering if this new processor is compatible with my computer's motherboard, which is an ASUS P5LP-LE. They have the same socket, but when I tried installing it, the fans won't even turn on! Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks very much,

-Matt

Well as you found out first hand it is not going to work in that board.
You can only install these processors and not the 1333FSB models.
Core 2 Duo E6x00
Core 2 Duo E4x00
Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core
Pentium D 8xx Dual Core
Pentium 4 6x1 series
Celeron D 3xx series

Furthermore processor support varies as there is more than one type of ASUS P5LP-LE
Leonite, Leonite2, Lithium, Limestone.

Good luck.

Just because it has the same socket, doesn't mean it's compatible. Shoulda done research first. Now your stuck with a cpu you can't use, looks like your buying a motherboard too.
