Help with Marvell 9128 stuck at SATA1 speed?!

Last response: in Storage

Have Crucial m4 SSD connected to Marvell 9128 SATA3 controller on Gigabyte P55A-UD4P rev2.

Originally had Marvell configured for SATA2, I believe because I had the USB 3.0 enabled (which can't work at the same time?)

Turned off USB 3.0, and Marvell confirmed "5.0Gb" in BIOS.

Updated Windows 7 x64 driver to v1.2.0.1027, and name is "Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller."

So here's the problem:

I'm getting a max of 120MB/sec from ATTO Disk Benchmark!
I was getting the same max when the controller was set to 2.5Gbps.

So is it stuck in SATA1 mode somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Stephen

SOLVED!

This MB appears to be buggy, either that or the Marvell chip.

I moved the SSD to another machine (a laptop) with a SATA3 controller, and it clocked in at 240MB/sec write and 445MB/sec read.

I'll invest in a new motherboard.

Thanks!

Stephen
