Help with Marvell 9128 stuck at SATA1 speed?! Tags: SSD Controller Storage Last response: August 6, 2012 10:30 AM in Storage Share skfurr August 6, 2012 10:07:14 AM Have Crucial m4 SSD connected to Marvell 9128 SATA3 controller on Gigabyte P55A-UD4P rev2. Originally had Marvell configured for SATA2, I believe because I had the USB 3.0 enabled (which can't work at the same time?) Turned off USB 3.0, and Marvell confirmed "5.0Gb" in BIOS. Updated Windows 7 x64 driver to v220.127.116.117, and name is "Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller." So here's the problem: I'm getting a max of 120MB/sec from ATTO Disk Benchmark! I was getting the same max when the controller was set to 2.5Gbps. So is it stuck in SATA1 mode somehow? Thanks in advance! I moved the SSD to another machine (a laptop) with a SATA3 controller, and it clocked in at 240MB/sec write and 445MB/sec read. I'll invest in a new motherboard. Thanks!
