I currently have an athlon 635 (which i have not used yet, still finishing up the last touches of my new rig [amd 635, 600w psu, saphire 5770 - planning to cf in future, cf ready mobo, and 4gb of g.skill 1600mhz ram so far]) and I want to be able to overclock it stable at 3.5-3.8ghz. I know i'd have to volt mod a little, thats no big deal, but would the h50 keep my temps pretty cool (cooler with the OC then with no OC and stock cooler?)? Thanks in advance.

Hello devinkoz;

The cost of the Corsair H50 ($80) is a relative high cost to your CPU ($100).
And the H50 doesn't cool all that much better than some of the best air coolers.

What case will you be using? I'll try and find a lower cost solution that will let you reach your OC goal.

I have a coolermastter storm scout right now. The main reason I was leaning towards the h50 was because I want my whole pc to have a nice black/red look without some ugly huge cpu heatsink fan. But I am willing to listen to what you have to say and possibly change my mind. Thanks much.
