GPU upgrade for Gateway

So, last Christmas I was fortunate enough to get a Gateway DX4822.
Gift horse, mouth, etc.

It has onboard GPU that does ok, but I would like to play some newer games.

It has an open slot, but if possible I would like to avoid buying a power supply as well. Any recommendations for a GPU?

Well, it comes with a 300W PSU and thus I'd suggest an ATi Radeon HD 5670.

I'd personally go with a 5670, my second choice would be a 4670. Both use about 63 watts of power and would work with your 300w power supply (they recommend more, but it would be fine).

If you don't want to upgrade your PSU then HD5670 would be a good choice...
