Hi,

I am building a computer that will be used for both audio production with a DAW and huge sample libraries as well as gaming.

have around $2200 for this build and my main priority is that I have the best performance possible (power distribution, etc.), and that it doesn't have any issues supporting 24GB (which most claim, but give issues ex: Asus Sabertooth). I would also like it to support that RAM overclocked to 1600Mhz.

I'm likely putting in an i7 960 as well as a GTX 570 SC. I may also watercool the CPU and OC it.

So any opinions on a MOBO are appreciated, thanks!

So, are you saying that this board will take 24GB of 1600Mhz RAM, without any issues?? Because that is the main part of my post.

Wrong.. And, I also said 1600Mhz. Do you have 24GB in any of your systems? If so, please tell me what combination of processor, mobo and RAM you have.

I have already talked to many people who have issues with 24GB ram. Just because a board says it, does not mean you just grab an X58 and just throw 24GB in.

I just built a system with the ASUS Sabertooth X58, 24 GB of Patrioit 7 Series 1600 DDR3, and a Core i7 970 hexacore. Zalman cooler, with a 1000W GPU, and an EVGA nVidia 570HD card, and a 2TB Caviar Black 7200rpm drive. No issues. None. Runs like a bat out of hell.

I have an ASUS sabertooth running 24GB of Corsair Vengeance @1604MHz. It works so I assume any ASUS board works well with it. I had RAM disappear on me in the past before I learned this information on the REF Cycle Timing here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_9MwkZ8cjs&feature=feedu

and theres a review of the RAM kit here:

I would highly recommend the vengeance 24GB kit.
